Group General Superintendent, Industrial/Manufacturing (AFG)
Role Summary
The Group General Superintendent will plan and direct all aspects of field operations for their assigned group or vertical, directly or through career development of field staff, training and managing adequate capacity for growth. This position will typically manage a work program(s) that generates annual revenue of $300M-$500M+. This position will also assist with setting strategic direction for business segments, ensuring profit projections for each project are met or exceeded and participating in developing and supporting company-wide initiatives.
Key Role Responsibilities
Coreset Strategic direction for assigned group or vertical and directs all aspects of field operations, logistics and self-perform.
Responsible for operational excellence, financial management, team leadership, relationship management, and assists with contracts for assigned group or vertical.
Serves as the primary self-perform field liaison working closely with the self-perform and project leadership.
Oversees field operations participation in preconstruction, construction and post construction activities including budget assistance and estimate participation.
Attends project preplanning, cost reviews and post construction meetings.
Coordinates and tracks movement of field staff, temporarily or permanently.
Collaborates on staffing needs for projects outside of assigned group or vertical.
Promotes and utilizes company tools for resource and workforce planning, managing all aspects of the project and project staffing.
Participates in presentations to a variety of audiences both internal and external to the company.
Oversees the management of field supervisors to achieve the company’s reimbursability goals.
May assist with union negotiations and has thorough understanding of union collective bargaining agreements, where applicable.
Responsible for leading client experience for assigned group or vertical.
Acts as a liaison between trade partners and company, developing and maintaining those relationships.
Participates in national programs, change initiatives, best practices and ensures assigned group or vertical executes them.
Assumes an influential leadership role in community and industry relationship building through networking, representing the organization on boards and serving as the face of the organization to help promote the interests of the company.

Proficiency in MS Office – Intermediate
Thorough knowledge of project processes and how each supports the successful completion of a project
Proficiency in project management and accounting software such as CMiC – Intermediate
Proficiency in required JE Dunn construction technology – Advanced
Ability to manage budgets, maximize profitability and generate future work through building relationships – Advanced
Ability to provide performance management feedback and complete evaluations
Ability to apply contract knowledge and changes to various levels
Ability to complete estimating and productivity analysis
Thorough knowledge of MBE (Minority Business Enterprise), WBE (Women Owned Business Enterprise), and SBA (Small Business Administration) regulations
Thorough knowledge of corporate risk management policies
Ability to quickly and effectively solve complex problems

Education
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field (Preferred)
Experience
15+ years construction experience (Required)
10+ years people management experience (Required)
10+ years experience leading construction projects (Required)
5+ years project financial management experience (Required)
