What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain a monthly group fitness schedule that meets diverse member needs
- Promote cross-training and new formats
- Recruit, audition, hire, onboard, coach, evaluate, and manage instructors
- Lead regular department meetings and continuing education
- Ensure proper class coverage (subs/backup)
- Teach classes as needed within monthly limits
- Keep front desk and members informed of updates
- Communicate class changes and announcements
- Cook up and promote at least one department event per quarter
- Observe classes, deliver quarterly evaluations, maintain current certifications for all staff, and uphold safety standards and reporting
- Track attendance for every class
- Analyze capacity, cost per head, and usage trends to improve results
- Maintain the online schedule, instructor roster, and payroll submissions
- Manage inventory and equipment repair requests
What You Bring
- Demonstrated success leading group fitness programs and teams
- National group fitness certifications; experience auditing classes and delivering instructor development
- Familiarity with fitness scheduling systems and KPI tracking (attendance, capacity, cost per head)
- Excellent communication, coaching, and people leadership skills
- Strong organization and attention to detail; comfortable with scheduling and basic reporting
- Member-first mindset with the ability to handle challenging situations with tact
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends as business needs require
