Group Facilitator/Recreational Clinician

Position Overview

The Group Facilitator is responsible for delivering RCA Substance Abuse curriculum for patients in residential and IOP recovery programs, supervising A&D trainee status staff, and attending staff meetings and trainings.

Specific Responsibilities

• Ensure groups are delivered professionally and effectively to meet desired learning objectives.
• Provide 1 hour of supervision and training as needed to A&D Trainee status employees each week.
• Engage with the recovery community in a culturally competent way, in and outside the group setting.
• Complete group notes and all other paperwork as assigned.
• Perform monthly group observation and supervision documentation for each trainee.
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

Education And Experience

• Bachelor's degree; master's degree preferred.
• Prefer 1 year of related experience, preferably in a residential setting, providing group-based care and/or with a substance use disordered population.
• Eligible for independent licensure or credential within 3 years of hire date if not already in process or credentialed. Acceptable licensure includes, LPCA, LPC, LPCS, LMSW, LISW, LMFTA, LMFTS, LACA, LAC and LACS. Acceptable credentials include ADC-IP, ADC, AADC, AADC-CS. Other credentials will be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Work Environment

Physical Demands

• While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear.
• The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel

• Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
