Job Description

As a client advocate at Northstar Behavioral Health, you will provide person-centered care in an opioid and stimulant-specific program with an energetic team. Northstar offers a range of services including residential, outpatient, medical, and mental health services in their Co-Occurring and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) friendly programs. Position Description

• Conduct group facilitation as per scope of practice and document all necessary information according to NBH and governing bodies' expectations.
• Complete weekly notes, individual notes, and/or information notes, adhering to NBH policies and standards.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and supervision meetings as required.
• Show knowledge of core competencies related to co-occurring disorders through continuing education and apply these skills in treatment.
• Adjust workload to accommodate fluctuations in client census.
• Identify and address significant changes in patients’ conditions through reporting, staffing consultations, and documentation.
• Engage with a multidisciplinary treatment team and attend meetings as needed.
• Attend All-Staff meetings and participate as required.

Required Skills and Experience

• Licensed Teacher with Family Education/Early Childhood, or Parent and Family Education
• Licensed Social Worker (LSW)
• Licensed Graduate Social Worker (LGSW)
• Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW)
• Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
• Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT)
• Licensed Psychological Practitioner (LPP)
• Registered Nurse (RN)
• CPR Certification or obtain within 30 days
• Two years of freedom from chemical use problems
• Pass a State of Minnesota Background Check
• Current Minnesota Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record
• Google Suite proficiency and other computer skills
