Group Director - Toll Technology
Responsible for the direction and supervision of a large professional or technical, multi-disciplined toll technology group. Coordinates project priorities, staffing schedules, and staff assignments to ensure clients nationwide receive capabilities to meet their needs. Oversees planning, organizing, developing, and maintenance of technical programs within the discipline, ensuring efficient and productive staff utilization to provide high-quality service.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical and operational supervision to a large group of professionals across two or more technical discipline areas.
- Ensures technical, administrative, direct labor, and schedule targets for the group are met.
- Manages performance, growth, and professional development of the technical group.
- Coordinates section activities, establishes priorities, and assigns staff to projects.
- Builds and maintains strong client relationships to generate opportunities for new work.
- Establishes goals and objectives, assesses performance, and provides ongoing feedback.
- Balances client needs with HNTB’s and employees’ interests.
- Recruits, hires, develops, and retains staff, including planning for staff reporting, performance reviews, compensation, and succession.
- Leads a group of 35–40+ employees, including direct and indirect supervision.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 12 years of practical experience, including 4 years of supervisory experience, or
- 16 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- 15 years of practical experience.
- 6 years of supervisory experience.
- Extensive history supporting tolling agencies.
- Strong relationships in the toll technology industry.

Pay
- California (San Francisco Bay Area): $225,746.07 – $360,607.36
- Washington: $216,716.23 – $346,183.07
- Colorado: $198,656.54 – $317,334.48
