Group Director - Toll Technology
About the Role
Responsible for the direction and supervision of a large professional or technical, multi-disciplined toll technology group. Manages all aspects of multiple projects, coordinates project priorities, staffing schedules, and staff assignments to ensure clients across the country are provided the capabilities to meet their needs. Plans, organizes, develops, and maintains technical programs in the area of discipline, ensuring efficient and productive utilization of staff to provide high-quality service.
Responsibilities
- Provides technical and operational supervision to a large group of professionals in two or more technical discipline areas.
- Ensures technical, administrative, direct labor, and schedule targets for the group are met.
- Manages the performance, growth, and professional development of the full technical group.
- Coordinates section activities, establishes priorities, and assigns staff to jobs.
- Builds strong client relationships with new and existing clients, leveraging those relationships to generate opportunities for new work.
- Establishes goals and objectives, assesses performance, and provides ongoing feedback.
- Takes a leadership role in understanding client needs, balancing the needs of HNTB and employees.
- Recruits, hires, develops, and retains the group's staff, including developing plans for staff reporting, performance, and compensation reviews, and succession.
- Leads a group including the direct and indirect supervision of at least 25 but typically 35-40 or more employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 12 years of practical experience, including 4 years of supervisory experience.
- In lieu of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- 15 years of practical experience.
- 6 years of supervisory experience.
- Extensive history of supporting tolling agencies.
- Strong relationships in the toll technology industry.
Pay
The approximate pay ranges are as follows:
- California San Francisco Bay Area: $225,746.07 - $360,607.36
- Washington: $216,716.23 - $346,183.07
- Colorado: $198,656.54 - $317,334.48
- New York: $225,746.07 - $360,607.36
- New Jersey: $216,716.23 - $346,183.07
- Massachusetts: $216,716.23 - $346,183.07
- Illinois: $198,656.54 - $317,334.48
- Virginia: $207,686.38 - $331,758.78
Actual compensation will be dependent on factors including but not limited to the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and physical work location within the state.
