Group CPO
About the role
You'll be joining Beacon's Portfolio Product team as a Group CPO, owning product strategy and execution across a defined vertical within our portfolio. You'll start as a player-coach, directly embedded in 2-3 portfolio companies while building and eventually leading a team of PMs as your vertical grows. This is a senior, high-ownership role for someone who wants to shape how an entire industry segment gets transformed through AI and software.
Key Responsibilities
- Own product strategy and outcomes across a defined vertical within Beacon's portfolio
- Directly manage 2-3 portfolio companies as a hands-on PM while building toward a team of 3-5 PMs over time
- Hire, onboard, and develop PMs within your vertical as the portfolio scales
- Develop and codify cross-portfolio playbooks that turn individual wins into repeatable systems
- Partner with GMs, founders, and operators to set product vision and translate it into executable roadmaps
- Drive quarterly and annual planning across your vertical, ensuring consistency and quality of product thinking
- Set the bar for how great product work looks at Beacon — spec quality, customer discovery, prioritization rigor
- Collaborate with engineering, data, and GTM teams to ship and scale features across multiple companies simultaneously
- Contribute to Beacon's broader AI platform by surfacing patterns and opportunities from your vertical
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of product management experience, with at least 2 years in a formal leadership role or as a co-founder
- Proven ability to lead and develop PMs, not just do great PM work yourself
- Deep B2B SaaS experience, ideally across multiple products or business contexts
- Strong systems thinker — you see patterns across companies and know how to turn them into playbooks
- Comfortable operating across multiple businesses and stakeholders simultaneously
- Ability to influence and earn trust with founders and executives without direct authority
- High autonomy, low ego. You figure things out and get them done
- Entrepreneurial mindset and genuine comfort with ambiguity
