Group Class Instructor (substitute)

About the role

HealthFitness, a Trustmark company, is seeking an energetic and engaging Group Class Instructor to support the fitness team at their corporate client site in Carmel, Indiana. This role is an on-call/substitute position where you will lead dynamic classes and keep participants motivated when regular instructors are unavailable.

Responsibilities

• Provide fun, effective, and safe group exercise classes such as dance, kickboxing, step, boot camp, and circuit.
• Ensure all participants are engaged and motivated during classes.
• Adapt classes to accommodate different fitness levels and preferences.
• Ensure safety standards are met during all exercises.

Requirements

• Current group exercise instructor certification from ACE, AFAA/NASM, ACSM, NETA, NCCPT, or other NCCA nationally accredited specialty class certification required.
• Adult CPR/AED and First Aid certifications from American Heart Association, American Red Cross or American Safety & Health Institute required before start date.
• 2+ years group exercise instruction experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to navigate electronic onboarding and timecard systems required.

Qualifications

• Pass a pre-employment drug test.

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to different teaching styles and participant needs.
• Knowledge of various group exercise formats and techniques.

Schedule

Flexibility is key in this role, as availability may vary depending on the needs of the corporate client. You will be expected to respond to calls for substitute instructors as needed.
