Groundskeeping Lead - Full-Time

Role: Groundskeeping Lead responsible for maintaining campus grounds at a university setting. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise a small groundskeeping team to achieve landscaping and beautification goals.Perform and oversee tasks such as mowing, trimming, planting, edging, weeding, fertilizing, and debris removal.Inspect completed work to ensure quality, appearance, and safety standards are met.Operate commercial landscaping equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and power tools.Drive and maintain groundskeeping vehicles and equipment.Assist with seasonal duties like storm cleanup, snow removal, and ice management.Conduct routine equipment maintenance, minor repairs, and safety compliance.Train new team members on work methods, equipment, and safety protocols.Monitor landscape conditions, identify improvement opportunities, and ensure high standards.Report hazards and equipment issues promptly while adhering to safety guidelines. Qualifications 2-3 years of groundskeeping, landscaping, or related outdoor maintenance experience.Experience leading a crew and assigning tasks.Valid driver's license and experience operating commercial equipment.Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and reliability.Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift, bend, walk, and stand for extended periods. Preferred Skills: Experience with campus or municipal grounds, landscape design, plant care, irrigation, turf maintenance, quality inspections, and tractor operation.
