Responsibilities

• Assist in maintaining Stella Maris grounds and exterior building.
• Ensure that all roadways and sidewalks are accessible during inclement weather.
• Work in conjunction with external contractors, supervised by the Department Director, on the overall beautification of Stella Maris.
• Policing of the Stella Maris campus/property as it relates to trash and debris; removal of all trash from receptacles.
• Regularly mow lawns, in assigned areas, with appropriate mowers as needed, always ensuring a well-maintained lawn.
• Maintain historic house operated by Mercy/SMI until further notice (front/back yard) and other areas as requested/as needed.
• Maintain all grounds equipment in proper working order, including lubrication and cleaning; report all necessary repairs.
• Maintain fuel tickets and submit to Department Director at month end.
• Water lawn and flower beds as required/needed to include external sundecks.
• If contractors need assistance, will be assigned by Department Director.
• Perform minor tree pruning as needed assigned by Department Director.
• Shovel snow from sidewalks and driveways; spread salt/sand to prevent slipping as needed.
• Respond promptly to emergency snow removal calls.
• Keep accurate records of work performed and maintain needed documentation daily.

Requirements

• Class C Driver's License
• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One year of experience

Pay

Min USD $19.40/Hr. Max USD $29.10/Hr.

Compensation decisions are made in alignment with internal equity, role scope, and market data to ensure fair and consistent pay practices. Most new hires are typically placed within the lower to mid-portion of the range; offers above that level are reserved for candidates with advanced or highly specialized qualifications.
