Groundskeeper

About the role

The Groundskeeper position at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center requires maintaining cleanliness and organization of the hospital grounds and facilities.

Responsibilities

• Empty and clean exterior trash containers and storage rooms.
• Sweep parking lots and stairwells regularly.
• Perform rounds on mechanical rooms, roofs, and central plant quarterly.
• Maintain a clean area around exterior open top dumpsters.
• Keep loading dock and open dumpster area clear of wooden pallets.
• Dispose of wooden pallets in dumpsters.
• Clean Plant Operations shop area- sweep and empty trash.
• Monitor maintenance needs around the exterior of the building.
• Report needed repairs to supervisor during inclement weather conditions.
• Aid other trades within the department when needed.
• Assist with clean up during emergency maintenance repairs.
• Stock and organize supply and material shipments in warehouse.
• Report any problems with equipment or supplies to supervisor.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Director or designee.

50% of the work will be performed outside.

Qualifications

• High school or Trade School graduation required.
• General landscaping and/or irrigation experience, preferably in a commercial environment.

$14.83 - $20.77 per hour
