Groundskeeper

Roles & Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness of assigned areas such as sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, fountains, planters, burial sites, or other grounds features
• Make minor repairs to items such as fences, gates, or walls
• Gather, remove, and dispose of trash or waste materials
• Water and irrigate lawns, trees, or plants using portable sprinkler systems
• Use irrigation methods to adjust the amount of water consumption and to prevent waste
• Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges using grounds maintenance equipment
• Mow or edge lawns, using power mowers or edger
• Plant seeds, bulbs, foliage, flowering plants, grass, ground covers, trees, or shrubs and apply mulch for protection, using gardening tools
• Rake, mulch, and compost leaves
• Operate and perform minor repairs on grounds maintenance equipment such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, snow blowers, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutters, or pruning saws
• Comply with safety rules, policies and procedures including use of personal protective equipment
• Stop at risk behaviors of others and self
• Respond to trouble calls and cleans up spills
• Communicate with co-workers, management, and customers and advises on plant selection or care
• Provide information about landscaping services or costs

• Education And/ Or Experience: High school diploma / GED – preferred Six Months Related Experience And/or Training – Preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Completed all safety and task training certifications.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit and talk or listen. The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds.

Compensation And Shift

• Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:30pm
• $15.00-$16.00 per hour
