Groundskeeper

Summary

Maintain the property in a clean, safe, and attractive condition at all times, and perform related functions as required. This position is considered an essential function to the operation of the community; consistent attendance is essential because it directly impacts the employee’s ability to perform duties effectively and ensures proper workflow and communication within the team.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Greet residents, prospects, and visitors, making them feel welcome and comfortable.
• Remove and dispose of all trash from the grounds, parking lots, hallways, laundries, apartments, and rental office.
• Repair fences.
• Work to enhance the appearance of all common areas; clean pool and playgrounds, weed lawns and flower beds, place mulch, prune trees, etc.
• Routinely inspect all ground spaces, including natural terrain, for trip hazards such as visible holes, divots, or other hazards.
• Other duties as assigned.

Occasional Functions

• Mow and trim the lawn.
• Perform minor repairs requiring the use of hand tools.
• Clean roofs and gutters.
• Paint signage.

Position Requirements / Qualifications

• Ability to read and write in English.
• Valid driver’s license (if operating a vehicle).

Physical Activities

Physical activities up to and including typing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, climbing stairs, or standing for periods of time. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lb.

General

Hours worked will coincide with the hours of operation in the community. This position may be required to work on weekends as necessary.
