Groundskeeper

What You’ll Do:

• Play a crucial role in maintaining the appearance and physical condition of the community.
• Create a safe, welcoming, and visually appealing environment for residents.
• Full-time, non-exempt position reporting directly to the Property Manager.
• Work at Terrace View, a newly renovated off-campus student apartment community in Blacksburg, VA.
• Reside within 30 miles of the property and have reliable transportation for on-call duties.

Where You’ll Work:

• Located less than 1 mile from Virginia Tech.
• Prime location with convenient transportation options via the Blacksburg Transit Bus Route.
• Available in various floor plans including 1, 2, 3, and 4-bedroom apartments and townhomes.
• Apartments come fully furnished with amenities such as a smart TV, private patio or balcony, dishwasher, full-size washer and dryer, and more.

What You’ll Own:

• Keep all interior and exterior areas clean, safe, and presentable at all times.
• Pick up litter, sweep, blow, or pressure-wash breezeways, parking lots, and other shared spaces.
• Care for plants, shrubs, and flowers by watering and ensuring their healthy appearance.
• Assist with swimming pool cleaning and maintenance to ensure compliance with safety standards.
• Support unit turnover processes, including trashing out vacant units and collaborating with vendors to maintain quality standards.
• Provide friendly and professional service to current, future, and past residents, including delivering and posting newsletters and correspondence.
• Inspect the property daily to identify and address hazardous conditions or liability concerns.
• Use property resources, equipment, and supplies efficiently and safely.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

What You’ll Bring:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic English communication skills to follow instructions and interact with residents and team members.
• Basic computer skills for completing work orders or other property tasks.
• Previous experience in groundskeeping, general maintenance, or housekeeping is preferred but not required.
• Physical ability to frequently walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift/move loads up to 50 lbs, as well as climb and work from ladders.
• Live within 30 miles of the property and have reliable transportation to participate in on-call duties.
