Groundskeeper

Highlights

Maintains grounds of hospital to be clean and aesthetically pleasing.

Work as liaison for Engineering, Security and contract grounds maintenance companies.

Ensuring trash collection, flower planting, pressure washing and overall appearance of the exterior of the hospital is maintained.

Education / Experience

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• At least 1 year grounds maintenance experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to work independently and follow through with routine assignments.
• Knowledge of minor grounds maintenance equipment.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
• Ability to foster a cooperative work environment.
• Ability to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds throughout the organization.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain a professional and customer centric composure in difficult or challenging situations.
• Ability to work from broad directions and be self motivated.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• Position requires sitting for 10% of the workday and mobility 90% of the workday.
• Occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
• Frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
• Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 25 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds.
• Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
• Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes.
• Minimal noise levels.
• Much exposure to computer work.
• Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
• Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
• Sometimes exposure to hazardous chemicals.
• Sometimes exposure to radiation.
