Requirements
- Qualified Applicator registered with the Arizona Department of Agriculture Pest Management Division
- Certification as an applicator for 24 months within 10 years immediately preceding the application in the category applied for
- OR Certification as an applicator for 12 months within 10 years immediately preceding the application in the category applied for and either:
- Successful completion of 12 semester hours or its equivalent
- Successful completion of 12 semester hours or its equivalent within the 10 years preceding the application in pest management courses directly related to each category applied for
- A Bachelor’s degree in agricultural sciences, biological sciences, or pest management with 12 semester hours or its equivalent in pest management courses directly related to each category applied for
- Twenty-four (24) months of experience in the business of pest management, within the ten years preceding application directly related to the category applied for
- Eighteen (18) months of experience in grounds maintenance and athletic field preparation for events or related fields
- Basic math skills
- Verbal & written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructions
- Must be able to work weekends
Qualifications
- FBI fingerprint background check
- Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles), or proof of MMR immunization
- Complete Qualifying Party registration with Arizona Department of Agriculture Pest Management Division within three months of hire
- Post-offer/pre-employment physical examination and 50 lb lift test
- ADOT (Arizona Dept. of Transportation) Medical Certificate required after hire
- Must hold a current Arizona Driver’s license and have accrued no more than the allowable points against Driver’s License as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees
- Maintain current Structural Pest Control Commission certifications in the following areas: A-General Pest, B-Weeds, C-Turf and Ornamental, D-Right of Way
