Grounds Worker

About the role

Woodfield Boca Raton is seeking a skilled Grounds Worker/Landscaper to maintain grounds and turf of golf course in playing condition as directed by supervisors.

Essential duties and responsibilities

• Connects hose and sprinkler systems at designated points on course to irrigate turf
• Digs and rakes ground to prepare new greens, grades and cleans traps, and repairs rosebeds
• Plants, trims, and sprays trees and shrubs
• Safely operates equipment and mowers and pluggers used for various course maintenance needs
• Cleans machinery after each use
• Inspects machinery and reports equipment problems to supervisor
• Makes necessary minor adjustments to equipment
• Loads and unloads materials
• Trims trees and removes cuttings
• Collects and empties litter cans
• Cleans gutters, drains, and culverts
• Cuts grass, weeds, and bushes
• Operates turf vac, skip loader, fairway and rough aerifier
• May operate smaller equipment as directed by supervisor
• Ensures equipment cooling system is working at all times; refills fuel and oil daily; cleans equipment daily; reports equipment problems or failures to Equipment Manager immediately
• Provides basic preventive maintenance on equipment as directed by equipment manager or supervisor and returns equipment to designated location at maintenance facility
• Performs other duties as directed by supervisor

Requirements

• Must have good written and verbal communication skills
• Must have valid and current Florida driver's license
• Must have experience with driving mowers, tractors, and push mowers
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays
• Must comply with all department policies and Standard Operating Procedures
