Position Summary
The Grounds Worker II position assists the College in maintaining the grounds. These duties include, but are not limited to: mowing, weed eating, blowing, hedging, trimming, pulling weeds, spraying, watering, emptying trash and servicing/maintaining equipment relevant to the department. The work is performed year round and in all types of weather conditions. Uniforms and personal protective equipment will be provided, and must be worn at all times.
Essential Functions
- Supports and promotes a culture of safety within the department.
- Maintains the grounds year round under the direction of a Grounds Foreman, the Grounds Supervisor and the Executive Director of Plant Operations.
- Able to work efficiently by themselves performing all duties relevant to the position such as mowing, blowing, pulling weeds, weed eating, etc.
- Promotes, supports and participates in student recruitment and retention efforts.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Knowledge of: Safety practices and procedures relevant to job duties.
- Skilled in: Safe operation of grounds equipment.
- Able to: Maintain healthy working relationships with all members of the campus community.
Qualifications
- Must possess a minimum of a high school degree and have no less than 2 years of experience working in a grounds maintenance capacity.
Salary Range
$32,834 - $38,580
