Grounds Maintenance Technician

Description

• Cuts grass with hand tools or power equipment.
• Trims trees and shrubs.
• Affords assistance with unloading of work trucks and delivery trucks and event set-ups.
• Affords assistance with site setup of plant materials, flower bed maintenance, lawn maintenance.
• Ensures that job site staging area is clean and organized.
• Picks up all trash in the area and disposes of it properly.
• Utilizes all installation tools according to company safety policy.
• Complies with safety policies at all times.
• Performs general repairs and tool maintenance.
• Marks sports fields.
• Performs related work as assigned.

Typical Qualifications

• Requires High School graduation or GED equivalent.
• Requires a short demonstration up to and including one month of related experience.
• Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license with an acceptable driving history.

Supplemental Information

All applicants tentatively selected for a position with Beaufort County Council will be required to submit to urinalysis to screen for the illegal use of drugs and to a background check prior to appointment. Employment is contingent upon clearing both the drug screening and background investigation.
