Grounds Maintenance (Seasonal)

Essential Responsibilities

• Maintain and care for lawns, gardens, trees, shrubs, flowers, and other outdoor landscaping features.
• Plant, water, prune, and maintain landscaping according to seasonal needs.
• Operate lawn mowers, trimmers, and other landscaping equipment safely and effectively.
• Clean, inspect, and maintain tools and equipment after use.
• Follow established safety procedures and proper equipment handling practices.
• Work independently while managing time effectively and prioritizing tasks.
• Maintain a professional, courteous, and service-oriented approach with residents, visitors, and team members.
• Support and adhere to Resthaven policies, procedures, and mission.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, work orders, and safety guidelines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency, including email and Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work effectively with older adults while demonstrating compassion, dignity, and respect.
• Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with residents, families, visitors, and staff.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Education, Training, Experience

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• One year of landscaping, groundskeeping, lawn care, or related experience is preferred.

Physical Demands

• Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, reach, push, pull, and work outdoors for extended periods.
• Ability to safely operate landscaping equipment and work from ladders when needed.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and humidity.
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

• Primarily outdoor work environment with exposure to varying weather conditions and temperatures.
• May occasionally work in wet, dark, or damp conditions.
• Moderate noise levels are typical when operating equipment.
• Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.

Pay Range

$15 - $16 per hour

Employment Type

• Full-Time (Monday - Friday)
• Seasonal (Will last until around October)
