Grounds Maintenance & Landscaper

Crown Co. is looking for someone who would rather be outside getting something done than standing around waiting to be told what to do. You take pride in a property that looks right, equipment that is well‑maintained, landscaping that stands out, and a job finished the way it should be. This is a great entry‑level opportunity for anyone with the right work ethic who wants to learn. You don’t need years of professional landscaping experience—if you’ve helped maintain acreage, mowed and landscaped properties, operated equipment, worked construction or outdoor jobs, or simply aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty, we want to hear from you. If you notice a broken fence, overgrown area, or irrigation problem before someone points it out—and believe your name should mean something when it’s attached to your work—we should talk.

Responsibilities

There’s variety in the work. One day you may be mowing, trimming, planting, or maintaining landscaped areas. Another day you could be repairing a fence, troubleshooting irrigation, clearing snow, cleaning up a property, or helping make an outdoor space look better than you found it.

• Operate mowing, trimming, landscaping, and groundskeeping equipment
• Maintain lawns, fields, landscaped areas, trees, shrubs, and flowers
• Plant, water, fertilize, prune, and care for landscaping
• Monitor irrigation systems and identify problems before they become bigger issues
• Repair fences, gates, irrigation components, and outdoor structures
• Maintain sidewalks, parking areas, drainage systems, and surrounding property
• Handle seasonal property maintenance, including snow and debris removal
• Safely apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides when needed
• Maintain tools and equipment so they’re ready when the job needs to get done
• Help with property improvements and other hands‑on outdoor projects throughout Crown Co.
• See what needs to happen and take ownership of it

Requirements

• You don’t need someone looking over your shoulder to do a good job
• You like working with your hands
• You’re comfortable around equipment—or you’re motivated to learn
• Dirt, weather, long days, and physical work don’t scare you
• When you’re not working, you’d rather be hunting, fishing, watching or playing sports, going to the races, working on your own projects, or spending time with family than sitting behind a desk

• Take pride in doing things right, even when nobody is watching
• Want to learn new skills and become more valuable over time
• Can work independently without needing constant direction

• Are comfortable working outdoors in changing Nebraska weather
• Have experience operating equipment—or the willingness and ability to learn
• Have basic mechanical instincts and enjoy figuring out how things work
• Are willing to learn irrigation, lawn care, plant maintenance, and safe chemical application
• Notice safety and maintenance problems and take action
• Show up when you say you will and can be counted on
• Have a valid driver’s license
• Experience in landscaping, lawn care, grounds maintenance, equipment operation, construction, or other outdoor work is a plus (but not required)
