Landscaper/Groundskeeper

Spartanburg Housing, formerly Spartanburg Housing Authority, provides affordable housing options for the citizens of Spartanburg. Celebrating 85 years of service, the organization works toward its mission to develop and provide affordable, quality housing options and programs that promote self‑sufficiency for area residents. The agency is seeking a full‑time Landscaper / Groundskeeper.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the installation and modification of new and existing landscape project sites.
• Direct the Prison Inmate Program, oversee grounds‑keeping inmates, and provide supervision.
• Coordinate with maintenance regarding work order assignments.
• Perform landscaping duties such as pruning bushes, raking leaves, cutting grass, mulching properties, and removing trash.
• Determine equipment, materials, and maintenance required; inspect and accept materials, supplies, and equipment delivered.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Minimum two (2) years of trade experience in landscaping work.
• At least one (1) year in a leadership or supervisory capacity (or any combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the duties).
• Valid South Carolina driver’s license and insurability under Spartanburg Housing’s automobile insurance plan.

Schedule

Full‑time position. Working hours are Monday through Thursday, 7 am – 4 pm, and Friday, 7 am – 11 am.
