Grounds Maintenance Associate III
About the Role
This position oversees day-to-day park operations, including staff management, general parks maintenance, and equipment upkeep and repair. The incumbent will assess, develop, and implement in-house training related to grounds maintenance and inspect parks to ensure they meet safety and maintenance standards.
Responsibilities
- Prioritize and assign work to direct reports, providing training and guidance as needed
- Ensure staff follow policies and procedures
- Approve time for direct reports
- Conduct performance evaluations
- Make recommendations in hiring, terminating, and disciplinary actions
- Complete accident and personal injury reports
- Maintain assigned budget and monitor expenditures
- Create purchase orders for materials needed in daily operations
- Perform monthly inspections of assets
- Create service requests for plumbing, electrical, and carpentry needs
- Maintain and verify equipment inventory
- Speak and lead training programs
- Interact with the public and youth athletic associations
- Report on maintenance items as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Three years of grounds maintenance experience, including one year of lead experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Valid driver’s license
This job may require on-call rotation and emergency after-hours, weekends, and/or holidays.
