About the role
The Grounds Crew/Operator position is a part-time role that, under the supervision of the course superintendent, assistant superintendents, and equipment manager, performs all aspects of maintenance to the grounds of Keith Hills Golf Club.
Responsibilities
- Mowing turfgrass including greens, fairways, tees boxes, roughs, and landscaped areas.
- Performs daily course setup to include moving tees, pin locations, out-of-bounds, and hazard markers.
- Performs all aspects of landscape maintenance including pruning, planting, weeding, mulching, edging, and blowing.
- Performs sand-trap maintenance including raking and edging.
- Demonstrates accuracy, honesty, integrity, and the ability to work within the Christian mission of Campbell University.
- Maintains a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
- Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice.
Requirements
- 1 to 2 years of experience in golf course maintenance or landscaping preferred but not required.
- Maintain a valid North Carolina driver’s license.
- Knowledge of safe, efficient mechanical operation of tractors and other motorized equipment.
- Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy, and discretion in dealing with golfers, faculty, staff, students, and university officials.
- Work independently as well as function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people.
- Detail-oriented and willing to work in a changing environment.
- Upon hire, have a broad knowledge of, and abide by, Campbell University policies and procedures, including, but not limited to, Title IX and FERPA guidelines.
