Ground Transportation and Maintenance Manager

About the Role

Manage installation ground transportation and vehicle maintenance services at Pittsburgh Air Reserve Station, Coraopolis, PA 15108. Coordinate fleet readiness, maintenance resources, and transportation support, ensuring qualified on-site management coverage during operating hours.

Responsibilities

• Direct transportation and maintenance personnel, monitor fleet serviceability, and coordinate repair priorities, vehicle availability, and customer transportation requirements.
• Review vehicle availability, maintenance backlog, and preventive/special-inspection schedules with FM&A and the mechanic lead.
• Coordinate dispatch priorities, driver resources, and maintenance windows with mission and customer needs.
• Review fleet performance, identify recurring repair trends, and direct corrective actions within the ground transportation function.
• Verify operator/mechanic qualifications, maintain alternate coverage, and ensure emergency recall readiness.
• Maintain management oversight during routine operations and surge support without performing dispatch, driving, or mechanic duties.

Requirements

• At least five years of documented experience managing vehicle management services (C-TE-9 requirement).
• NAFA Fleet Management certification and Certified Automotive Fleet Manager certification (C1.2.1 requirement).
• Ability to evaluate fleet data, supervise transportation service delivery, and coordinate competing operating and maintenance demands.
• Maintain required on-site core-hour coverage and after-hours availability.
• Fluent English proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking when interfacing with Government representatives.
• Complete required background/access processing, HSPD-12 credentialing, and applicable onboarding/safety training.
• Successfully pass a federal, state, or local government's background investigation.

Qualifications

• AF ground transportation/vehicle management systems training consistent with the proposal qualification matrix.
• Ability to provide current qualification records for verification.
• Completion of the proposal’s Lautenberg certification process.
