About the Role

This position is directly responsible for the leadership, direction, administration and management of ground support equipment maintenance employees, procedures and equipment at their location. This includes safety and compliance, maintaining and overseeing all ground services equipment, trucks and support equipment, maintenance policies and procedures, record keeping, inventory of parts, equipment and development of maintenance programs that align with management goals and progressive training initiatives for the maintenance employees that foster and instill QAS principles.

Qualifications

  • Aviation Management or related field with a minimum of two years of experience in managing a GSE maintenance operation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficient within Microsoft Office suite programs (Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel).
  • This position requires a broad range of mechanical and management experience including but not limited to GSE equipment, service vehicles, tractor/trailer, industrial pumps and hoses, storage facilities, fuels, fluids, facility requirements and safety/regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to listen to others and value opinions, interpret information, promote and execute ideas, preparation of reports and presentations and promote an environment of open communication.
  • Capable of interacting with all levels of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to assist General Manager in managing project tasks assigned to his/her location to include follow up with team to outline progress on assigned tasks, provide regular updates to the Regional Maintenance Manager on any concerns or new information, and be an active participant for the successful completion and involvement of the team project.
  • Ability to mentor, coach and lead employees, mechanics and other assigned staff for further growth and development.
  • Direct and manage all aspects of the maintenance department with ability to identify ways to improve and progress for process improvement. Develop goals and objectives for the maintenance department and employees.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills with ability to manipulate multiple projects and meet conflicting deadlines timely.
  • Actively promote adherence to safety practices and programs and hold site employees accountable for leading safety and compliance in the workplace.
  • Work in a safe manner and lead by example in the context of performing the functions of this position.
  • Compliance with all applicable environmental laws and permits.

Required Skills

  • Prior experience with information entry into a CMMS system.
  • Previous fleet, Mechanic shop or dealership work experience preferred.
  • Previous experience diagnosing and repairing electrical systems and Hydraulics systems.
  • Experience with GSE and or, mobile field service trucks associated equipment.
  • ASE or manufacturer certifications highly desirable.
