Responsibilities Ground Beef Supervisor responsibilities include, but are not limited to Provide total ownership of all key performance indicators (KPIs) within the department — including but not limited to yields, labor, efficiencies, downtime, packaging cost, safety, and retentionSupervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet or exceed planned production targetsEnsure product quality, food safety, and consistency in accordance with USDA, HACCP, and company requirementsMonitor yields, labor, and downtime to drive continuous improvement in efficiency and performanceLead, coach, and develop production employees to build a high-performing and safety-conscious teamOversee and direct production employees’ daily activities, schedules, timekeeping, and attendanceIdentify training needs and assist in developing cross-training programs for team flexibilityCollaborate with superintendent to improve scheduling, staffing, and operational planningConduct pre-operational checks and verify equipment readiness for production startupPartner with Maintenance and QA to minimize downtime and resolve process or equipment issues quicklyMaintain accurate production and performance records, including yields, rework, and waste trackingPromote and enforce company policies, GMPs, safety procedures, and sanitation standardsParticipate in daily production meetings and communicate key metrics, issues, and action plansEnsure packaging and labeling accuracy for all SKUs in compliance with specificationIdentify and recommend cost controls and other improvements to processesOversee projects to ensure timely and successful completionOther duties as assigned This is a safety sensitive position. Qualifications Qualified candidates for the Ground Beef Supervisor position should possess the following Thorough understanding of beef plant environment and significant department job knowledgeExcellent supervisory and leadership skillsProficient with MS Office or related software to complete reports and logsAbility to work successfully both independently and as part of a teamStrong judgment and ability to make sound business decisions in a timely mannerExcellent written and verbal communications skillsStrong listening and comprehension skillsAbility to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriateStrong interpersonal and conflict resolution skills Qualified candidates for this position will be required to successfully complete the background check.
