Grossing Technician PRN
Job Summary
The employee is responsible for daily activities associated with the processing of tissues as received from surgical procedures; participation in the education of pathology residents in tissue processing and participation in the quality assurance activities that are associated with these processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a science-related field (major coursework in the biological sciences; preferably in chemistry, biology or immunology) from an accredited university
- Graduate of a NAACLS-accredited Pathologists’ Assistant Training Program and be an AAPA (American Association of Pathologists' Assistants) Fellow or eligible
- Certification by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists preferred
- 1 year of histology and/or grossing experience required
- Experience with grossing routine specimens (gallbladder, appendix, uterus, etc.)
