PURPOSE
Aids the Grocery Manager in overseeing the Grocery Department, assisting in staffing, inventory, and customer service.
Responsibilities
- Champions customer service initiatives to meet divisional goals.
- Manages customer relations positively, resolving complaints effectively.
- Supports Albertson's personalized service philosophy.
- Performs ordering, receiving, storing, pricing, stocking, and merchandising duties.
- Assists in planning, organizing, and directing daily operations.
- Implements company and division merchandising policies.
- May direct store operations in absence of Store Director and Grocery Manager.
- Engages in suggestive selling and sales techniques.
- Accounts for sales, maintains cash register detail tapes, and manages money from check stands.
- Prepares "to do" lists for night stockers, closes out items, and implements price changes.
- Controls shrinkage and prevents out-of-code product sales.
- Ensures store compliance with policies, recommends corrective actions, and implements emergency procedures.
- Supervises associates and handles customer complaints in absence of Store Director and Grocery Manager.
- Might perform duties of the Receiving Clerk.
- Performs all job duties accurately, honestly, and with integrity.

- Extensive retail background with prior management experience.
- Thorough understanding of Company practices, policies, and procedures.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.

- Knowledge of employment laws and workplace practices.
- Knowledge of basic mathematics and weights and measures.

- Physical stamina to stand, walk, lift, maneuver objects up to 80 lbs., and operate various equipment.
- Compliance with Company policies including grooming standards and dress codes.
