GRNT000: Head of Grants

Department Head

JerseySTEM is seeking a Department Head to help establish and manage the infrastructure for accessing grant funding. The successful candidate will:

• Implement best practices in Grant Research, Writing and Management
• Manage a team of Grant Researchers and Grant Writers
• Investigate and evaluate JerseySTEM’s, and other organizations’, process for applying for grants
• Make recommendations regarding requirements to create and implement an improved process
• Make recommendations regarding creating a robust and self-sustaining team
• Work with the human resources group to identify and on-board volunteers with the requisite skills
• Monitor and guide the team’s efforts
• Attend virtual team meetings once a week
• Report to the board on team’s performance and provide recommendations on team structure and operational management, as well as on-going potential further improvements.

Genuine concern about/interest in solving the STEM education gender and opportunity gap.

Experience developing and supervising teams.

Experience working with volunteer organizations.

Strong leadership/team building skills.

Resourceful, can-do attitude.

Comfort working in a 'virtual organization' with digital tools (G-Suite, Slack, Jira, salesforce).

A flexible schedule to allow for non-regular, scheduled meetings during the workweek 1-2 times a month.
