About the role
Perform grinding operations to support the fabrication of enclosure assemblies, sub-panels, and accessories.
Responsibilities
- Operate standard grinding tools and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Grind, smooth, and finish metal components to remove sharp edges, burrs, weld marks, scratches, and excess material.
- Inspect parts for defects, ensuring quality and proper cosmetic appearance prior to the next stage of production.
- Interpret basic work instructions, drawings, and specifications as needed.
- Identify and report defective materials or questionable quality conditions.
- Maintain consistent quality standards while meeting production requirements.
- Maintain work area, tools, and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures, including proper use of PPE.
- Assist with material handling and movement of parts as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to follow established SOP's and Work Instructions.
- Must have knowledge and be able to use basic hand tools and grinding equipment.
- Ability to read and use a tape measure.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to complete required paperwork accurately.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing (8–10 hours per shift).
- Frequent bending, stooping, reaching, and lifting.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, occasionally with assistance as required.
- Ability to safely operate equipment such as hand tools and, where applicable, overhead cranes and hand jacks.
