Grinder (1st shift)

Essential Functions

• Receives carbon, alloy and high-density steel stock requiring grinding.
• Checks metal surfaces for defects as directed.
• Operates portable grinder, positioning wheel against metal surfaces to remove excess metal, fins, burrs, seams, defects, etc.
• Exercises care and judgment to avoid damaging contour of stock.
• Changes grinding wheel for efficient operation.
• Uses hand tools as needed.
• Places processed stock in proper container for further routing.
• Maintains identity, i.e.: serial, heat codes, etc.

Basic Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in manufacturing.
• Minimum of 6 months' experience meeting production goals.
• Minimum of 6 months' forklift experience.
• Must be able to read and write in English.

Preferred Qualifications

• 6 months or more of grinding.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Pay

Pay commensurate with experience.

Schedule

1st shift is Monday-Friday, 7am-3pm.
