About the role
The Grill Restaurant Outlet Chef position offers a comprehensive benefits package including a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $80,000 annually, DOE, a cellphone allowance, incentive eligibility, and paid time off. Responsibilities
- Select, train, and manage the Culinary Team
- Oversee daily kitchen activities
- Work closely with Culinary leadership for special and catered events
- Attend meetings to discuss upcoming events and review contracts
- Facilitate monthly department meetings
- Manage division activities through Food and Beverage Team
- Ensure guest expectations are exceeded
- Maintain efficient operations and adhere to safety and quality standards
- Report unsafe conditions or equipment immediately
- Develop all menus with Executive Chef approval
- Collaborate with Culinary Leadership to develop creative event themes
- Support catering and planning with event creation
- Maintain ongoing communication with all departments
- Respond to internal and external inquiries and complaints
- Maintain favorable resident, member, guest, and employee relations
- Protect company assets by establishing and ensuring adherence to security standards
- Complete monthly food inventories
- Ensure team exceeds guest expectations by being responsive, engaged, and following-through on all requests
- Complete administrative tasks in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner
- Deliver exceptional products and service
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with Columbia Hospitality values and mission
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree (BA) from a four-year college or university, or five to six years related experience and/or training
- Excellent business communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to calculate and apply basic algebra and geometry
- Conflict management and negotiation skills
- Flexibility to perform multiple tasks, work in stressful situations, and manage shifting priorities
- Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and other computer programs
- Excellent people skills, professional demeanor, detail-oriented, and strong organizational skills
- Reliability and punctuality
Qualifications
- Previous food and wine experience
- Working knowledge of restaurant equipment
- Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s)
