Position Summary

GSAPC is seeking an Intermediate Architect with approximately 5–10 years of professional experience to join our growing team. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated architect to take increasing responsibility for project development while working directly on a wide variety of project types.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Prepare architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents utilizing Autodesk Revit.
  • Affiliate in all phases of project delivery, including programming, schematic design, design development, construction documents, bidding, and construction administration.
  • Cookordinate architectural work with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, landscape, and specialty consultants.
  • Participate in client meetings, consultant coordination meetings, and project presentations.
  • Conduct field investigations, existing conditions surveys, and construction observations.
  • Prepare code analyses and assist with permit applications and agency submissions.
  • Cookordinate project documentation to maintain quality, consistency, and adherence to project schedules.
  • Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and contractor requests during construction.
  • Affiliate with quality assurance reviews and internal project coordination.
  • Mentor junior architectural staff and provide technical guidance as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture from an accredited institution.
  • 5–10 years of professional architectural experience.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Revit.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Strong understanding of building construction, detailing, and building systems.
  • Working knowledge of the New York City and State Building Codes, International Building Code, New Jersey Rehabilitation Subcode, ADA Accessibility Standards, and applicable local regulations.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Registered Architect or actively pursuing licensure.
  • NCARB certification or on a path toward certification.
  • Experience with institutional, educational, public-sector, or multifamily residential projects.
  • Familiarity with historic preservation and adaptive reuse projects.
  • Experience coordinating consultant teams and managing project schedules.
