Greeter - Part-Time

About the role

The Greeter performs various customer service activities, including greeting all customers promptly and friendly, handling merchandise with care, providing information and direction, distributing promotional materials, and supporting front-end business needs. Greeters are expected to deliver exceptional customer service to ensure every guest feels welcomed and appreciated.

Responsibilities

• Greets all customers as they enter the store in a friendly and outgoing manner.
• Actively promotes programs including CLUB Membership (US only), VOC, and In-Store Pickup.
• Models brand-standard customer service by adhering to the dress code (green logo shirt for Bass Pro Shops or tan logo shirt for Cabela’s), displaying a name badge, maintaining a professional appearance, and using welcoming body language.
• Checks in all customers’ merchandise for returns.
• Checks in all vendor representatives, completes visitor log information, and controls visitor badges.
• Remains aware of all “Special events” in the store and informs customers of event details, sales, or promotions; provides promotional materials as needed.
• Ensures the entryway and surrounding work area remain clean, tidy, and safe for customers and staff.
• Assists with customer check-in of firearms/weapons by notifying the appropriate trained staff; never accepts, possesses, or handles a firearm while performing duties.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent (minimum).
• Experience in a customer service environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt to new processes and procedures.
• Self-motivation and initiative while working unsupervised.

Physical demands

• Regularly walks and stands; occasionally performs computer work and lifts up to 50 pounds.
• Constantly communicates with others to exchange information.
• Constantly repeats motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
• Occasionally works in low or high temperatures, outdoor elements (precipitation, wind), and noisy environments.
• Light work that includes constantly moving and lifting objects up to 20 pounds; occasionally moves and lifts objects up to 100 pounds or more (utilizing a team lift as needed).
