Responsibilities
- Maintains clean and organized work areas on the golf course and maintenance facility
- Course setup, moving and setting tee balls, picking up garbage, and changing pins
- Mows greens, approaches, fairways, rough, tees, and other areas
- Waters tees, greens, and fairways; operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water
- Repairs the irrigation system, pipes, and irrigation heads as necessary
- Grades and prepares soil base, lays sod and seeds greens, tees, and fairways
- Trims and prunes hedges and shrubbery; cleans flower beds
- Applies pesticides and fertilizer to the golf course
- Operates small equipment, such as weed trimmers, blowers, edgers, and push mowers
- Aerifies greens, verticuts, and or mows tees and greens
- Performs related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager
Requirements
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Working knowledge of basic electricity and hydraulics related to an irrigation system, including automatic valves and controllers, and various types of pumps and pumping systems
- Knowledge of agronomy, turf grass science, and the rules of golf
- Possess leadership qualities
- Must have a willingness to learn
- Must be driven and possess a strong work ethic
- Must be dependable
- Ability to understand and follow oral instructions
Qualifications
- Ability to operate trucks and light motorized equipment
Skills
- Knowledge of grounds maintenance
