Greenhouse Manager

About the role

The Greenhouse Manager oversees the care of cultivated plants used in the Biology Department curriculum, including a permanent collection and short-term plantings for teaching and research.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the care of cultivated plants used in the Biology Department curriculum.
• Maintain the physical facilities of the Greenhouse and ancillary rooms.
• Communicate with Facilities Management for regular maintenance and prompt repairs.
• Aid laboratories and student research in courses focusing on plant biology.

Requirements

• Experience managing a greenhouse and related facilities.
• Knowledge of plant biology and horticulture.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, faculty, and Facilities Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Botany, Horticulture, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role.

Skills

• Strong organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Basic knowledge of plant genetics and physiology.
