Great Start Readiness Program Lead Teacher

MISTAFF is a collaborative effort of the Michigan Association of Intermediate School Administrators, Michigan Association of Superintendents & Administrators, Michigan Association of School Boards, Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals, Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association, and Michigan School Public Relations Association.

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced educational leader to serve as the next principal of our school. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a positive school culture, driving academic excellence, and supporting the growth and development of both students and staff. Responsibilities

• Provide instructional leadership to ensure high standards of teaching and learning.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate school programs and policies in alignment with district and state guidelines.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging school environment for all students and staff.
• Manage school operations, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Build strong relationships with parents, community members, and stakeholders to support student success.
• Supervise, evaluate, and support school staff to promote professional growth and accountability.
• Monitor student progress and implement strategies to improve academic achievement.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and policies.

Requirements

• Valid Michigan administrator certificate with a building-level endorsement (e.g., School Administrator, Principal).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of successful teaching experience, preferably in a K-12 setting.
• Proven leadership experience in an educational setting, such as assistant principal, department chair, or other leadership roles.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in education.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in education, educational leadership, or a related field (required).
• Experience with data-driven decision-making and school improvement planning.
• Knowledge of curriculum development, assessment, and instructional best practices.
• Familiarity with Michigan’s educational standards and accountability systems.
