GRC Engineer - REMOTE

About the role

For our client, we are seeking a GRC Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This remote role will focus on strengthening governance, risk, and compliance controls across technology operations, with particular attention to database security and regulated environments. You will help embed automated security and compliance checks into engineering workflows so the organization can reduce risk while improving delivery speed. The position will partner closely with cross-functional teams to translate technical controls into measurable business outcomes and support ongoing audit readiness.

Responsibilities

• Embed security checks in development workflows to prevent non-compliant deployments
• Design and maintain executable policies for infrastructure compliance
• Build and maintain automated compliance auditing pipelines
• Automate database security controls for data-at-rest and access management
• Integrate compliance checks into CI/CD deployment pipelines
• Develop scripts to automate the collection of audit evidence
• Identify and document technical security risks and translate them into business metrics

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, MIS, or equivalent experience
• 10+ years of experience as a subject matter expert in DBA roles and/or GRC Engineering
• In-depth knowledge of database compliance rules, especially PCI-DSS
• Strong program management skills within complex organizations
• Ability to propose and implement solutions independently
• Ability to build effective relationships with cross-functional teams
• Experience with GRC tooling and automation is highly desirable
