About the role
The Graphic Designer works within the Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology Marketing and Communications team and utilizes design expertise to visually communicate the OSUIT brand and support the university’s strategic marketing and communications plan. This position contributes to recruitment, retention, reputation management, brand awareness, and institutional marketing efforts through the creation of high-quality print and digital design assets.
Responsibilities
- Utilize advanced graphic design, illustration, page layout, and graphic communications skills.
- Create high-quality print and digital design assets for recruitment, retention, reputation management, brand awareness, and institutional marketing.
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams and campus partners to ensure alignment with the university's strategic goals.
- Show strong attention to detail and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Demonstrate creativity, integrity, and commitment to advancing the OSUIT brand.
- Communicate design concepts, rationale, and creative decisions clearly and professionally to clients, stakeholders, and team members.
- Evaluate and incorporate feedback professionally, balancing business objectives, user needs, and design best practices while maintaining a collaborative and client-focused approach.
- Show excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to effectively recognize and resolve conflict.
Requirements
Education Required:
- Associate degree in Graphic Design or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Qualifications
- Associate degree/two years of post-secondary education and four years of related experience; OR
- Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate field and three years of related experience.
- Other combinations of education and experience may be considered if relevant.
Skills, Proficiencies, And/or Knowledge
- Advanced knowledge of graphic design, illustration, page layout, and graphic communications.
- Advanced competency in Adobe Creative Cloud, specifically Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, Lightroom, and Acrobat.
- Experience in a Mac OSX environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and campus partners.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Demonstrated creativity, integrity, and commitment to advancing the OSUIT brand.
