Graphic Design Manager
About The Role
The Manager, Graphic Design is a pivotal role within Girl Scouts, responsible for maintaining and elevating the organization's visual identity across various channels. This role involves leading the creative execution of marketing and communication initiatives, advising stakeholders on brand application, and ensuring consistency and excellence in design. The successful candidate will independently manage complex projects, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and bring innovative ideas to life that resonate with our youth-focused audience.
A passion for storytelling through visual media, a keen eye for detail, and proficiency in multimedia tools are essential. The manager will play a key role in shaping the visual narrative of Girl Scouts, ensuring that every design reflects the organization's mission and values.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in a corporate, agency, or in-house design environment
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Experience with Canva and other multimedia design tools
- Strong photo editing, typography, color theory, layout, and illustration skills
- Competency in Office 365 suite
- Understanding of web design, email marketing, HTML, and CSS
- Portfolio submission demonstrating a diverse and creative body of work
- Experience working with cross-functional teams and managing multiple projects independently
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to generate original ideas and visualize concepts from start to finish
- Experience with youth-focused or mission-driven organizations is preferred
- Fluency in Spanish is a plus
- Illustration skills are an additional advantage
Responsibilities
- Create digital and print assets that align with brand guidelines and communicate the Girl Scout story effectively
- Design concepts, mood boards, and visual narratives that engage target audiences
- Advise and develop visual brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all platforms
- Collaborate with internal departments, external partners, and Girl Scouts to deliver creative projects on time and within scope
- Manage multiple projects from conception through execution, ensuring high-quality deliverables
- Utilize data to inform and optimize content design and audience engagement strategies
- Stay current with industry trends and incorporate innovative design techniques
- Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute to the development of creative campaigns
- Assist in the production of content for web, email, social media, and other multimedia channels
