Position Details
This position will be open until filled: however, applications must be received on or before May 31, 2026 to be considered during the initial review window. Onsite interviews will begin June 22, 2026. Anticipated start date for this position is July 20, 2026.
Applicants must submit three (3) graphic design work samples with their application. Samples should include any original design work created by the applicant and should demonstrate creativity, technical skill, and design style.
Applicants selected for an interview will be required to complete a graphic design exercise based on a provided prompt and present their work as part of the interview process.
Transcripts are required for this position and should be uploaded to your application along with a cover letter and resume. Photocopies of transcripts are acceptable to be uploaded. Job Duties
- Partner with the Chief Communications Officer (CCO) and Advertising Manager to conceptualize college advertising campaigns, and collaborate closely with the CCO and/or Communications Manager to ensure all promotional and recruitment materials receive required review and proofing prior to publication.
- Hold primary responsibility for design, production and production coordination of advertising and marketing materials to promote all areas of the college in print (including billboards and vehicle wraps), digital and broadcast media, with priority given to items intended to increase applications and enrollment.
- Design and layout major publications of the College, including (but not limited to) FORWARD magazine, annual report and viewbook; invitations, programs, flyers, postcards and publications for college programs.
- Produce signs, posters, banners and other promotional items.
- Oversees the college’s digital asset management system for photography and video, ensuring proper organization, metadata, version control, archiving and accessibility of visual media assets.
- Manages the organization, storage and maintenance of design layout files, templates and source documents to ensure accuracy, efficiency, brand consistency and long-term usability.
- Oversee, mentor and coordinate work assignments with the Graphic and Website Coordinator and Visual Media Specialist.
- Ensures all digital and print design work meets applicable accessibility standards by applying inclusive design principles, creating accessible layouts and graphics, and collaborating with communications and web teams to support ADA- and WCAG-compliant visual communications.
- Provides backup support for photography and video shoots as needed, supplementing the work of the Visual Media Specialist when primary coverage is unavailable or additional assistance is required.
- Meet with clients to discuss their needs and formulate the best course of action in developing, designing and producing publications or promotional pieces.
- Image management of the college: provide consulting services for signage, design and produce environmental graphics and keep college Identity Standards Manual and Style Guide updated.
- Coverage of photography and videography events as needed, including but not limited to, events such as commencement, athletic events, and special campus events.
- Coordinate and manage production services including printing, signage, display and specialty vendors.
- Create vector art, logos, key art and cover art.
- Verify digital files are production-ready (fonts, graphics, text, layout, resolution) before printing, publication or online distribution.
- Perform press checks when deemed necessary to ensure high quality of print publications.
- Produce signed, sealed and framed official proclamations, resolutions and certificates on behalf of the College.
- Aid in the college planning and assessment program by developing annual work unit objectives that impact long-range priority goals.
