Graphic Arts/UI/UX Designer
This is a full-time, temporary position (not eligible for company benefits) with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm. The role is fully remote, with occasional travel for meetings, collaborative activities, or team-building as specified by leadership.
About the role
Serves as a team member in designing, developing, implementing, and/or supporting moderately complex distributed or web-based information systems. Supports project tasks and codes and tests programs, developing system documentation (e.g., structure charts, screen designs, data flow diagrams, file layouts, report layouts, and job run descriptions) in accordance with IS standards.
Responsibilities
- Supports the design, development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of moderately complex web-based and distributed applications.
- Contributes to project deliverables, coding, system testing, and technical documentation in accordance with established IT standards.
Requirements
Education
- College coursework in Computer Science or Information Systems.
Experience
- Distributed and/or web-based system development.
- Programming languages (e.g., COBOL II, J2EE).
- Database management systems (e.g., IMS DB, DB2, Oracle, SQL Server, Access).
- Web development (HTML).
- PC fundamental tools (MS Office).
Skills
- Structured systems analysis, design, programming, and testing.
- Mainframe and/or distributed computing fundamentals and concepts.
- Systems operation practices.
- Analyze business problems.
- Strong analytical and investigative ability.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in UI/UX Design, Human-Centered Design, Interaction Design, Product Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may also be considered.
- Coursework, internship, academic project, volunteer, or professional experience related to user interface design, user experience design, or digital product design.
- Portfolio or work samples demonstrating skills such as wireframing, prototyping, visual design, user research, or designing web or mobile experiences.
- Familiarity with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, or similar tools.
- Basic understanding of user-centered design, usability, responsive design, information architecture, accessibility, or design systems.
- Ability to gather feedback and translate user or business needs into clear design concepts.
- Ability to communicate design ideas and collaborate with business partners, developers, product teams, and other stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Agile, iterative design, or software and product development methodologies.
Pay
Competitive annual salary of $57,000 - $62,000 with annual bonus potential, based on performance.
