About the role

Consulting with stakeholders to understand business goals. Helping to solve complex business issues from strategy to execution, as part of a team of problem solvers. Designing, developing and implementing both client and internal facing applications and providing technology tools that help drive NYS strategic initiatives. Using enterprise architecture across application areas to build delivery models that map capabilities to business needs outlined by NYS. Using multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations. Addressing defects and enhancements as part of the application support lifecycle. Participating in incident resolution post implementation as required.

Responsibilities

• Create and carry out user research plans (i.e., surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc.), as well as explain user research results to internal and external stakeholders.
• Plan and facilitate design thinking workshops (i.e., journey mapping, user needs modeling, etc.).
• Create UX deliverables (i.e., user models and scenarios, sketches, user stories, user flows, wireframes, storyboards, sitemaps).
• Create and iterate on interactive user experience prototypes that require coding.
• Plan and conduct usability testing, analyze user feedback and activity, and iterate to improve the user experience.
• Work closely with developers to bring designs to life and iteratively improve solutions.
• Collect quantitative and qualitative UX metrics that support usability validation.
• Assist with content development.
• Design for multi-device web, iOS, and Android contexts.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Between three (3) and seven (7) years of experience as a UX Engineer.
• Five to seven years of experience in UI/UX engineering on full life cycle of design deliverables including wireframes, mockups, journey maps, prototypes, storyboards and user surveys.
• One to two years working in an Integrated Eligibility System Program in various workstreams in a Health and Human Service setting.
• One to two years of experience with Adobe Creative Suite or Figma.
• One to two years of experience with user research, user modeling and usability testing.
• One to two years of experience with CSS3, HTML5, and JavaScript.

Pay

$85.00/hour
