Grants & Programs Officer
About the role
The Grants and Program Officer is part of a team responsible for coordinating, managing and executing activities related to programs and initiatives of the grantmaking arm of the CareQuest Institute for Oral Health, particularly focused on working with Native communities.
Responsibilities
- Provide program support to CareQuest’s grantees and program partners.
- Manage a grants portfolio including Native partners.
- Aid in developing and executing the annual program goals and objectives of the Foundation.
- Balance the programmatic demands of each area and focus on creating the maximum number of successful products or outcomes possible.
- Work with grantees to review and refine progress for which the grant was rewarded.
- Develop a plan for next grant, review and assess needs.
- Support grantees through process of inputting their proposals into Fluxx.
- Manage Fluxx workflow for assigned portfolio.
- Serve as a thought-partner to grantees and complete regular touchpoints.
- Help to design and support convenings and other opportunities for peer learning and connection across partners.
- Participate in measurement, evaluation, learning, deliverable dissemination, story collecting, and impact assessment efforts.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Business, Healthcare Administration (or related field) or equivalent, relevant work experience.
- 5+ years’ experience in grants and programs management and/or nonprofits.
- Well-organized and superior organizational, written and oral communication skills, particularly presentation skills, facilitation, and difficult conversations.
- Knowledge of the health care industry and Native communities.

- Proficient with general computer software including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
- Proven problem-solving skills.
- Ability to make good judgment conclusions based on data available with minimal supervision.
- Ability to prioritize and organize multiple tasks with tight deadlines.
Qualifications
- Attends additional training as requested/deemed necessary.
Skills
- Manual dexterity and sitting is required in carrying out position own position responsibilities (i.e. use of personal computer).
- Ability to travel or move about within and outside serviced facilities required.
- Incumbent works primarily in either a private or shared office environment.
Pay
The target hiring range for this role is $72,500 - $85,000 (annually).
Schedule
The starting base salary will be determined based on skills, experience, and other job-related factors.
