Position Duties
- Aid faculty in research application development and submissions, coordinating with collaborating institutions.
- Ensure compliance with institutional and sponsor policies and guidelines during application development and submission.
- Serve as a liaison between the institution and external funding agencies, as well as collaborating institutions, addressing grant-related administrative issues.
- Facilitate the creation, coordination, execution, and implementation of research contracts, including MTAs, DUAs, and sponsor-supported clinical trials.
- Evaluate contract terms, budgets, and conditions, negotiating with sponsors to finalize agreements.
- Collaborate with the team to develop portions of proposals not specific to individual investigators' expertise, such as budget narratives, facilities narratives, and inclusion of minorities.
- Review and reconcile research financial reports to ensure accurate cost and revenue allocations and compliance with federal, institutional, and sponsor requirements.
- Work with the Finance Department to oversee post-award financial grants management, including budget reallocations, reporting, and requests for carry-forwards.
- Maintain oversight of research spending against budget and address variances as needed.
- Aid faculty in managing research deliverables like progress reports and sponsor inquiries.
- Support the development of the Annual Research Budget and contribute to strategic decision-making.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to grant award submission and management.
- Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as requested.
Position Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience in Health, Education, Business, or related field.
- One year of experience in research application coordination and submissions.
- One year of experience in finance, accounting, and/or related areas.
- Experience in clinical trial management and analysis, including contracting, budgeting, forecasting, and accounting in healthcare or a research environment.
- Experience with non-profit or academic research institutes.
- Experience with Federal and foundation grants.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent organizational, coordination, and project management skills.
- Certified Research Administrator (CRA) certification preferred.
