Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Research: Identify and track federal, state, and local funding opportunities specifically for large-scale infrastructure and community development.
  • Grant Composition: Lead the writing, editing, and submission of complex grant applications, ensuring 100% compliance with technical requirements.
  • Financial & Technical Analysis: Compile statistical data and benefit-cost information to build a compelling case for project funding.
  • Client & Agency Liaison: Present funding strategies to City Councils, Commissioners, and stakeholders. Maintain professional relationships with state and federal agency representatives.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside Project Managers, Planners, and Engineers to translate technical project specs into persuasive funding narratives.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional grant writing experience, with a proven track record of securing federal grants for infrastructure and community projects.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Planning, or a related field.
  • Technical Mastery: High proficiency in SAM.gov and Grants.gov registration and submission processes.
  • Software Skills: Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint); experience with Adobe InDesign is highly preferred.
  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present to governing bodies and large groups.
  • Project Management: Ability to manage multiple high-stakes deadlines simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
