Job Duties
The Grant Coordinator leads a comprehensive grant program for the Kansas Judicial Branch to provide funding opportunities for innovative programs that further the Mission and Vision of the Kansas Judicial Branch.
The Grant Coordinator prepares or consults on grants, contract proposals, and grant administration for the Kansas Judicial Branch. The Grant Coordinator seeks out and evaluates grant proposals and reviews reimbursement requests, while monitoring compliance with federal, state, and local policies/procedures.
- Prepares or consults on grants, contract proposals, and grant administration
- Sets up and administers grants
- Evaluates grant proposals and reviews reimbursement requests
- Maintains financial accountability and compliance of grant programs
- Monitors compliance with federal, state, and local policies/procedures
- Reviews reimbursement requests
- Submits reports
- Maintains accurate records
- Ensures grant funds are being spent appropriately and within policy
- Interprets complex federal and state guidelines related to grant management
- Develops policies and procedures for effective grant management
- Identifies the priority of program funding
Requirements
- Graduation from a four-year college or university with major-course work in business, finance, or accounting, or a related field
- Three years of responsible professional experience in management or administration preferred
- Experience in grant management or project management work may be substituted for educational requirements

Skills
- Knowledge of the judicial and legislative processes
- Knowledge of state and local government structures
- Ability to plan, organize, and administer statewide programs and projects
- Prior experience with federal grants
- Strong computer competence, including knowledge of programs contained in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to work independently but also collaboratively with stakeholders, other court staff, and members of the court
