We are looking for a Grant Analyst to join our team in Los Angeles, California for a contract position.

About the role

In this role, you will help oversee grant-funded activity by reviewing budgets, analyzing spending patterns, and preparing accurate financial and program documentation. You will work closely with finance and program stakeholders to support compliance, reporting, and audit readiness while helping ensure awarded funds are managed in accordance with sponsor requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Review grant budgets and compare expenditures against approved funding plans to identify variances and support sound financial oversight.
  • Prepare timely financial and program-related reports for internal stakeholders and external funding sources.
  • Monitor grant activity to confirm that expenses align with sponsor rules, contract terms, and organizational policies.
  • Maintain organized records of grant documentation, including supporting files needed for reporting and audit review.
  • Partner with finance and program teams to track funding usage, clarify spending questions, and resolve discrepancies.
  • Assist with audit preparation by gathering documentation, validating transactions, and responding to information requests.
  • Analyze grant data and provide insights that help leadership understand budget performance and funding status.
  • Support compliance efforts by reviewing submissions and processes to help ensure adherence to donor or agency guidelines.

Requirements

  • Experience supporting grant administration, grant accounting, or financial analysis in a regulated or compliance-driven environment.
  • Ability to review budgets, reconcile spending activity, and interpret financial data with strong attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of grant compliance standards, reporting practices, and documentation requirements.
  • Proficiency in preparing clear financial summaries and maintaining accurate supporting records.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across finance, program, and audit-related teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments in a contract position environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for reporting, documentation, and stakeholder coordination.
