Grant Analyst
Responsibilities
- Oversee the administration of routine and highly nuanced grant awards from initial review through final processing, ensuring each transaction is completed accurately and on schedule.
- Evaluate grant requests for compliance by reviewing recipient eligibility, intended use of funds, and supporting documentation in line with policy and regulatory expectations.
- Refine operational workflows by identifying delays, recurring errors, and control gaps, then implementing improvements that increase efficiency and service quality.
- Maintain reliable grant data by reviewing record accuracy, applying consistent coding standards, and ensuring documentation is complete and well organized.
- Collaborate with partners across departments to define reporting needs and produce clear, actionable information from grant-related data.
- Support strong adoption of grant systems and operational tools by developing guidance materials, training users, and enhancing templates and dashboards.
- Serve as a dependable point of contact for escalated grant questions, exception requests, and sensitive situations requiring balanced judgment.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to uphold governance standards, align service expectations, and advance continuous improvement efforts.
- Contribute to additional grant operations assignments as business needs evolve.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience in grants administration, grant operations, compliance, or a related analytical function.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple grant files or comparable workstreams while meeting deadlines and maintaining high accuracy.
- Experience interpreting policies, regulatory requirements, or procedural guidelines and applying them consistently in day-to-day work.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to identify issues, assess risk, and recommend practical solutions.
- Proficiency in working with systems, records, and reporting tools to support data quality and operational decision-making.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across teams and support stakeholder needs effectively.
- Able to create or improve process documentation, user guidance, and training materials for operational consistency.
- Familiarity with compliance-related concepts such as due diligence, documentation review, or risk assessment is preferred.
